First Snow

Friday night and into yesterday morning, it was the first snow of the season.  And the first snow I have “lived” in since the winter of 1985/86.  It was a wet snow that sticks to the tree limbs and due to the wind it also sticks to the sides of the trees.

I was excited to get out and shoot the gorgeous winter wonderland, however, there was a funeral to attend.  Knowing that there would be beautiful snow-covered trees at the church, my compact camera went with me.  Below is a gallery of images made at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church along with a few photos from yesterday afternoon at East Lake Park.  You may click on any image in the gallery to view a larger version.

    Hi Tamara,

These are absolutely lovely! Your East Lake Park 2384 reminds me of a snow scene I took a few winters ago, here. We had snow yesterday, too, but only a little over an inch. Big, wet flakes that clung to the trees, etc. It was very pretty.

Sorry I’ve been out of touch. Busy summer – as you obviously have had, too. We are in the process of selling our house and moving, but still within the same town. Retirement has been bumped back another year.

Wishing you and yours a very joyous and happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a busy few months for us indeed! We had less than 30 days to pack and get moved out of our home in Phoenix. Getting settled has taken longer than I anticipated and now the holidays are upon us. Moving is never fund whether it’s in the same town or another state.
